Our Panchakarma programs are tailor-made according to your health concerns and state of imbalanced doshas.

What is Panchakarma?

Panchakarma means five procedures in Sanskrit. It is one of the most vital practices in Ayurveda which helps in clearing out all the toxins in the body. In Ayurveda, it is considered to balance the doshas in our body known as Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. When the doshas are not in balance it means that there are a lot of toxins present in the body. Here Panchakarma plays the role of balancing the doshas by removing the toxins from the body. Panchakarma not just purifies the body but also rejuvenates and builds up the immune system.

How is the Panchakarma Treatment done?

Panchakarma is a five-step process. These are Bio cleansing procedures in Ayurveda. By these methods, the toxins accumulated in the body are expelled through the natural orifices of the body.

The Five Panchakarma Therapies:

  1. Vamana (Therapeutic Emesis)
Induced vomiting to eliminate excess Kapha from the stomach and upper digestive tract.
  2. Virechana (Purgation Therapy)
Use of herbal laxatives to cleanse excess Pitta from the intestines and liver.
  3. Basti (Medicated Enema)
Introduction of herbal decoctions or oils into the colon to balance Vata and cleanse the lower digestive tract.
  4. Nasya (Nasal Administration)
Application of medicated oils or powders through the nostrils to cleanse and rejuvenate the head and sinuses.
  5. Raktamokshana (Bloodletting)
A controlled process of removing small quantities of blood to eliminate toxins and balance Pitta—used less commonly today.

Panchakarma is typically done under the supervision of an Ayurvedic practitioner and includes preparatory (Purva Karma) and post-therapy (Paschat Karma) steps like diet, massage, steam therapy, and rest. It’s often used not only to treat illness but also as a seasonal detox or a rejuvenation therapy.

There is no restriction as such anyone can do the Panchakarma treatment. It is one of the safest treatments which does not have any side effects. It is still safe to get an ayurvedic practitioner’s consultation before going for the Panchakarma Treatment in Mumbai.
